More Charges of Minor Offences Filed in 2001, Shows Report on Police Work

Ljubljana, 26 March - The extent of crime handled by the police rose in 2001, which is mostly due to a greater number of charges for minor offences being filed, was said at Tuesday's press conference presenting police work in 2001. Police officers were also successful in providing security at the June Bush-Putin summit in Slovenia and at a number of large sports events, said chief of police Marko Pogorevc, adding that within the fight against terrorism, the police secured buildings and carried out preventive tasks.
