Slovene Central Bank Raises Discount Rate

Ljubljana, 1 April - The Bank of Slovenia raised discount rate by one percentage point to ten percent as of 1 April. The council of the central bank decided on this move due to high price rises in the first two months of this year. As a result of a higher discount rate, liquidity is to be reduced, with costs of short-term securities increasing.
