University of Ljubljana Warns of Lack of Finances for Development of Higher Education
Ljubljana, 2 April - Slovene lawmakers have left officials at the University of Ljubljana fuming over the poor financial state of their organisation at a time that much attention is being paid to the issue of the establishment of new higher education institutions. The establishment of new institutions "is a normal phenomenon witnessed around the world, however unlike elsewhere, in Slovenia such plans go ahead without assured funds in the budget," the head of Ljubljana University's management board, Dusan Mramor, complained in an interview for the daily Delo.
