Ljubljana, 9 April - Construction and the building material industry are important factors in the Slovene economy, accounting for five percent of GDP in 2001 and employing over 60,000 workers, Economics Minister Tea Petrin pointed out at the opening of the 15th international construction and building materials fair Megra 2002 in Gornja Radgona on Tuesday. Last year was tough for Slovenia's construction industry because of weak investments, but this year's trends are more optimistic, she stressed.
