Census in Austria Detects a Slight Drop in the Number of Slovene Speakers in Carinthia
Klagenfurt, 16 April - As many as 12,586 persons in the Austrian province of Carinthia quoted Slovene as their first language during last year's count of the population in Austria. The figure shows a drop of 9.9 percent compared to the census of 1991, the Austrian Statistical Office reported in Vienna on Tuesday.
