Youth Party Launches Campaign against Compulsory Military Service
Ljubljana, 16 April - The opposition Youth Party (SMS) has launched a campaign against the compulsory military service in a bid to enable the public to make its own appeal to Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek and Defence Minister Anton Grizold in favour of a speedy abolition of conscription. After the petition was signed by SMS leader Dominik S. Cernjak at Tuesday's news conference, the party started collecting signatures in the centre of Ljubljana.
