Vecer: Prime Minister's Awakened Conscience
Maribor, 17 April - Hat off to the Dutch government, long live democracy! That must be the first thought in regard to Tuesday's decision by Dutch Prime Minister Wim Kok to resign, together with all his ministers, due to objective responsibility, writes Wednesday's issue of the Maribor-based daily. Vecer states the shameful role of the Dutch peacemakers in Srebrenica, as they let the protected muslim enclave to fall in June 1995, which was followed by a Serb massacre. Finally, someone is willing to take on their share of responsibility and pay a high price to step down, according to Vecer.
