Carinthian Slovenes to Attend Conference on Bilingual Topography
Klagenfurt, 18 April - Representatives of the Slovene ethnic minority in Austria are to take part in a conference aimed at finding consensus on the issue of bilingual topography in the province of Carinthia, while the Austrian Green Party has announced that it would boycott the meeting if Austrian Federal Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel invites nationalist organisations to attend the conference. Carinthian Slovenes nevertheless believe that nationalist organisations cannot represent a partner in the negotiations and will address a letter to Chancellor Schuessel to draw his attention to the matter.
