Gov't Returns Vatican Agreement to Constitutional Court Despite Opposition from Junior Partner
Ljubljana, 18 April - The Slovene cabinet decided on Thursday that it would supplement an initiaitve to check the constitutionality of the agreement on legal issues reached last December between Slovenia and the Holy See, as was requested by the Constitutional Court. However, this move was met with opposition from three ministers of the junior coalition partner, the United List of social Democrats (ZLSD), who did not agree with the Foreign Ministry-prepared proposal, the head of the government public relations office Alja Brglez told the press following today's government session. The ZLSD decided that it would send a seperate initiative to the Constitutional Court.
