Gov't Says No to NATO Referendum Before Slovenia is Inivited to Join
Ljubljana, 18 April - The Slovene government discussed on Thursday a Foreign Ministry-prepared opinion on the possibility to hold a consultative referendum on Slovenia's bid to become a member of NATO. The conclusion of Slovenia's cabinet was that a right time is required for a referendum and this cannot be before Slovenia knows whether it would be invited to join, the head of the government press office Alja Brglez said following the session.
