Slovenia and the EU to Negotiate on Institutions and Budget on Monday
Brussels, 19 April - The EU will meet Slovenia - as well as other candidate countries - next Monday for a new round of accession negotiations which is expected to deal with the chapters on budget and institutions, EU diplomats in Brussels said. While the first chapter cannot be temporarily closed at this stage, the EU has proposed closing the chapter on institutions. However, according to Slovene diplomatic sources, Slovene and EU negotiators are not expected to close this chapter on Monday since the Union's proposals from this chapter still need to get the green light from the government and the relevant parliamentary committee.
