Will Slovenia Have to Concede to Lower Regional Policy Funds?
Ljubljana, 22 April - The framework financial strategy for EU enlargement, presented by the European Commission in January, has caused mixed emotions with applicant countries, most of which were very displeased with figures for agriculture. However funds for regional policy were reduced as well. Slovenia anticipated in its 2004-2006 national development programme (NDP) that it would receive the equivalent of three percent of the GDP from structural funds, however first calculations of figures from the proposed strategy indicate that the figure could be much lower.
