European Commission Forecasts Moderate Economic Growth for Slovenia
Brussels, 24 April - After an estimated GDP expansion by 3 percent in 2001, Slovenia is expected to post moderate economic growth of 3.1 percent this year, whereupon it will pick up to 4 percent in 2003, the European Commission said in its spring economic forecasts for the candidate countries released on Wednesday in Brussels. Slovenia thus places somewhere in the middle among the EU candidate countries.
