MPs Discuss Future of Public Sector Wages, Gov't and Opposition Strongly Divided

Ljubljana, 26 April - Slovene lawmakers convened for an extraordinary session on Friday to tackle the bill on wages in the public sector, one from a package of five bills that make up the government's public administration reforms. According to the government, the bill would finally determine the wage system for all public servants and is thus important as it would do away with the current discrepancies. However, the opposition parties were not so convinced and have already announced that they would not endorse the bill, claiming that the government is rushing the adoption.
