Six EU Candidates Adopt Joint Statement on Accession Process and EU Convention
Nicosia, 27 April - The adoption of a joint statement on enlargement wrapped up the eighth meeting of chairs of parliamentary committees for European affairs from the six EU candidates that were invited to start accession talks with the EU in 1997 in Luxembourg. Slovenia was represented in in the Cypriot city of Paphos by MP Lojze Peterle, elected recently the candidates' representative to the Convention's presidency, who outlined his views on activities of the EU convention on the future of the EU.
