Slovenia Celebrates Resistance Day
Ljubljana, 27 April - Slovenia is celebrating Resistance Day on Saturday. The holiday marks the day of the uprising against occupation in WWII and symbolises the fight against Fascism, as the Liberation Front of the Slovene nation was formed in Ljubljana on this day in 1941. The main ceremony to mark this national holiday took place last night in Ljubljana, with keynote speaker Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel, however numerous ceremonies marking Resistance Day took place around Slovenia today.
