Slovene Infantry Unit Likely to Leave for Bosnia This Autumn
Brussels, 7 May - An infantry unit of the 10th motorized battalion of the Slovene Army, which has been ready since 1 May to join the international troops in Bosnia and Herzegovina (Sfor), is likely to leave for the international peace mission in September or October, Chief-of-Staff of the Slovene Army, Brig. Ladislav Lipic said Tuesday after attending a session with his counterparts from the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council in Brussels. The number of Slovene troops abroad will thus almost double: there are currently 117 soldiers serving abroad, 109 of them in Bosnia, while as many (i.e. 109) constitute the above unit.
