Velenje, 7 May - Most of Slovenes wanted to join NATO after Slovenia's independence in 1991, and the opinion remained the same throughout the decade, but in August 2001 the media launched second thoughts and doubts about Slovenia's NATO accession, opposition leader Janez Jansa of the Social Democrats (SDS) said on Tuesday at a public debate of the Slovene NATO Committee.
