Maribor, 11 May - "Welcome to Ljubljana, Slovenia, one of the most liberal countries in the world as regards the freedom of news." That was how the organisers of the International Press Institute (IPI) greeted the participants of the congress on Thursday. Pressure on journalists is different from environment to environment. Somewhere it is a subtle form of hidden bribing and buying one's support, while elsewhere it is a matter of physical violence. In extremes cases, a journalist's life is even threatened, says Saturday's Vecer.
