Last Slovene Bear Leaves for the Italian Dolomites

Ljubljana, 13 May - A female bear was caught in the night on Sunday in Slovene forests to be taken to Italy to repopulate the Dolomites with brown bear, according to the Slovene Forest Institute. The four-year-old Maja was the last Slovene bear sent to Italy in line with a 1998 Slovene-Italian agreement signed under the auspices of the European Union Life Project.
