Proposed Constitutional Changes on Referendum Lack Broad Support
Ljubljana, 17 May - The parliamentary commission examining the proposed changes to the Slovene Constitution decided with narrow majority on Friday to continue with the debate on changes to the constitutional provisions dealing with the legislative and constitutional referendum. However before the debate proceeds, the commission has asked a group of experts to examine the previous execution of referendums, which is to verify whether some of the wide-spread doubts about possible abuses of the referendum are well-grounded.
