Italy's Restitution of Artworks Addressed by Daily Delo
Ljubljana, 21 May - Slovenia can make no mistake by voicing a determined demand for the return of artworks, as it is not claiming them on its behalf, but on behalf of their owners - the heirs of those that gained them and kept them for centuries, the daily Delo writes on Tuesday about Slovenia's demands for the return of a collection of Venetian Renaissance works of art which were taken to Italy by the Italian authorities from Slovene and Croatian coastal cities in 1940.
