Slovene Finance Minister Defends Public Finances at Panel on National TV
Ljubljana, 22 May - Slovenia's public finances are presently sound, Finance Minister Anton Rop said in a debate on the national television channel, but added that trends that could lead to a higher public debt should be stopped. Economic experts Franci Krizanic and Tine Stanovnik, who also took part in the panel, shared the same opinion, while the leader of opposition New Slovenia (NSi) and MP Andrej Bajuk tried to prove a crisis in Slovene public finances.
