Central Bank Should Wait with Issuing a Permit for Sale of NLB Stake, Says Opposition Party
Ljubljana, 23 May - The National Party (SNS) on Thursday called upon Bank of Slovenia Governor Mitja Gaspari that the central bank should not give a go-ahead to the Belgian banking and insurance group KBC for the acquisition of a qualifying 34-percent share in Nova Ljubljanska banka (NLB). The opposition (SNS) called upon Gaspari to wait as the party has filed a bill to temporary halt the privatisation of largest state-owned banks into parliamentary procedure.
