Defence Minister Speaks on NATO at Independence Ceremony
Ljubljana, 25 May - NATO membership will allow Slovenia to take equal part in remodeling the world and have a say in own existence and development, said Defence Minister Anton Grizold at Saturday's ceremony marking the 11th anniversary of the Pekre events near Maribor. The gathering, which attracted a few hundred citizens and a number of officials, remembered the first incident between the Yugoslav army and the Slovene defence forces, which went on to become the Slovene independence war in 1991.
