NATO Opponents and Advocates Confront View on Slovenia's Membership of the Alliance
Sežana, 28 May - Maintaining that a decision on whether to join NATO is of great importance for Slovenia, the Liberal Academy, an association gathering intellectuals associated with the LDS, invited several NATO opponents and advocates to a panel which was held on Monday evening at the southwestern town of Sezana. Stances on what NATO membership would mean for Slovenia were presented by the Slovene defence minister, the chair of the parliamentary foreign affairs commitee, two university professors and a freelance journalist who used to be a foreign ministry state secretary.
