Peterle Says Debates on the Future of the EU Must Involve Civil Society
Riga, 28 May - Slovene MP Lojze Peterle, a member of the presidency of the Convention on the future make-up of the EU, on Tuesday stressed the importance to involve the civil society in debates on the future of Europe. Addressing a meeting between President of the European Parliament Pat Cox and speakers from EU candidate countries in Latvia's capital, Peterle hailed the activity of national forums where the civil society can present its views on such issues and called on the speakers to take part in the work of such forums.
