Caretakers of Slovenia's Forests Lack Financial Means
Ljubljana, 28 May - Slovenia's forested surface covers 56.4 percent of the country's territory (1.14 million hectares) after the forests increased by 8,642 hectares in 2001. However, the Forestry Institute is facing financial difficulties as the Agriculture Ministry is allocating fewer and fewer funds each year for public forests service.
