No Agreement on Old Foreign Exchange Deposits Between Yugoslavia's Successors in Basel
Basel, 28 May - Negotiators of five successors to former Yugoslavia met in Basel on Tuesday in another attempt to reach an agreement on guarantees for old foreign exchange deposits. As chief Slovene negotiator Rudolf Gabrovec said, the talks are now focussed only on the remaining part of obligations which have not been assumed yet. According to calculations of the Basel-based Bank for International Settlements (BIS), this is around five percent of the inital amount of savings deposits.
