Postal Services Act to Partially Liberalise the Market
Ljubljana, 29 May - A new postal services act, which is to take effect as of Thursday, 30 May, is to provide for partial liberalisation of the market in Slovenia. It introduces the idea of universal services which will have to be provided by the Post of Slovenia for at least a year after the implementation of the law without compensation. During this time this public company will have to transform into a company governed by market forces. The control over the market of postal services will be taken over by the agency which is now in charge of telecommunications and broadcasting.
