Security Beefed Up for Presidential Summit
Ljubljana, 31 May - Security has been beefed up in the northern Slovene region of Gorenjsko as the lakeside resort of Bled, the Brdo mansion near the city of Kranj and Brnik airport prepare to be "occupied" by 16 Central European heads of state, who are to hold their ninth traditional summit over the next two days. A total of two thousand police officers have been deployed to provide security for the event, while special traffic regulations have also been implemented.
