Senator Voinovich Praises Slovenia's Readiness to NATO, Points to Low Defence Budget
Ljubljana, 31 May - Slovenia should be among countries invited to join the Alliance at the NATO summit in Prague in November, U.S. Senator George Voinovich said Friday after meeting Jelko Kacin, the chairman of the Slovene parliamentary foreign affairs committee. The U.S. senator of Slovene descent believes that there is no NATO aspirant as qualified as Slovenia, however he did point out that a rather low defence budget is one of the concerns.
