Future of the EU on the Agenda as Ciampi Holds Bilateral Talks
Bled, 31 May - As part of the first round of bilateral meetings staged on the sidelines of the ninth traditional summit of Central European presidents on Friday morning, Italy's President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi held talks with counterparts from Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Austria and Germany, which focussed on issues concerning the future of the EU, sources from the Italian delegation revealed. Ciampi is due to leave Slovenia on Friday evening, a day earlier than the other presidents, due to obligations he has back home on the occassion of Italy's Republic Day celebrations.
