NATO Membership Costs to Total around 1% of Slovenia's Defence Budget
Ljubljana, 3 June - Whether Slovenia joins NATO or not, its defence budget would be the same in 2005, totalling around two percent of the country's GDP, Defence Ministry State Secretary Janko Dezelak told a business weekly. He added that the professionalization of Slovene armed forces would bring about new defence costs, explaining there was actually no direct link between the professionalization and Slovenia's entry into the Alliance.
