Slovenia and EU Sign PHARE Financing Memorandum on Nuclear Safety

Ljubljana, 12 June - Slovenia and the EU on Wednesday signed a financing memorandum of the PHARE preaccession aid programme which will provide EUR 1.4 million to improve nuclear safety in Slovenia. Head of the European Commission delegation to Slovenia Erwan Fouere, who signed the document together with Slovene Europe Minister Janez Potocnik, said that the general objective of the projects laid down in the memorandum "is to continue to strengthen and further enhance the effectiveness of the nuclear safety regime in Slovenia".
