Ljubljana, 14 June - In vain did European Commissioner for Enlargement Guenter Verheugen voice his concern over what he called "adverse winds" in his address to the European Parliament, and little response did meet the warning by Spanish State Secretary Ramon de Miguel that the EU member states which are against direct payments for farmers from fresh members would have to take the responsibility along with the consequences for accession negotiations, if the 15-nation bloc does not reach a consensus on its negotiating position on agriculture, Delo says in Friday's editorial entitled "Adverse Winds".
