Referendum Initiative on the Act on Wages in the Public Sector Fails
Ljubljana, 19 June - The police trade union has failed to collect the 40,000 signatures necessary to press for a referendum on the act on wages in the public sector, which was passed in parliament on 7 May. The proponents managed to get the backing of only 19,000 signatures, which is nevertheless three times more that the number of police trade union members, the trade union said in a press release on Wednesday.
