Ljubljana, 20 June - The STA English service will cover the following events on Thursday, 20 June:
BLED - The fourth ministerial meeting of the Central European Nations' Cooperation in Peace Support (CENCOOP) initiative is to kick off. The two-day event is to be attended by defence ministers from Austria, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland, and Slovenia, while Croatia is to become the seventh members on the occasion.
PORTOROZ - A regional international seminar on co-operation in the fight against corruption and trafficking in persons is to begin. Representatives of nine countries are expected to attend the three-day event, which was organised by a number of Slovene governmental and non-governmental organisations, as well as the Council of Europe.
BRUSSELS - The 24-member joint committee of the Slovene and European parliaments is to hold its eighth session, the first this year, to examine Slovenia's readiness for membership, as well as the progress made in accession negotiations. The meeting, which is to wrap up at 6:30 P.M. CET, is also to be attended by Slovenia's Europe Minister Janez Potocnik and European Enlargement Commissioner Guenter Verheugen.
LJUBLJANA - Prime Minister Janez Drnovsek is to answer questions of opposition lawmakers as part of June's parliamentary session, at which MPs are also due to debate changes to the act on the prevention of money laundering.
LJUBLJANA - The Slovene government is to hold its regular weekly session to examine the annex to the collective agreement in education, which was initialed on 6 June. The annex is also to be signed after the cabinet meeting, which is to conclude by 2:00 P.M. CET.
ROGASKA SLATINA - The Agency for Regional Development and the Regional Development Fund are to host Slovene Regional Days 2002, a two-day event examining Slovenia's regional policy before EU accession, adjustment to European regional policy and regional development incentives.
