Slovenia to Celebrate 11 Years of Independence

Ljubljana, 24 June - Slovenia's National Day, a day when on 25 June 1991 the then Slovene Assembly adopted several documents on the country's independence, has been celebrated around Slovenia and at Slovene embassies around the world since last week. The the main ceremony, however, will take place in Ljubljana on Monday evening, with President Milan Kucan as the key-note speaker. Kucan will also use this occassion to remember those who lost their lives during a short war which broke out following the official declaration of independence on 26 June.
