Opening of New Motorway Sections Accompanied by Protests of Local Inhabitants
Ljubljana, 28 June - The Slovene Motorway Company (DARS) on Friday officially opened two new sections of motorway leading from Ljubljana to Maribor, adding 14.6 km of new motorway to Slovenia's transport infrastructure. Although the new sections will provide much needed relief to the overburdened Ljubljana-Maribor route, not everyone applauded today, as inhabitants of Lukovica, a town some 15 km NE of Ljubljana, are displeased with the fact that their town did not receive a separate motorway exit.
