Croatia to Claim US$ 251 Million from Slovenia

Zagreb, 2 July - The Croatian transmission grid operator HEP intends to propose to Slovenia to buy out the Croatian stake in the Krsko nuclear power plant (NEK) for cash or electricity supplied from NEK until its decommissioning. Before making the bid to Slovenia, HEP needs to get the go-ahead of the supervisory board and Croatian government, a Croatian daily reported on Tuesday. According to the report, HEP claims some US$ 251 million plus interest rates from Slovenia, while the latter claims some US$ 25 million from HEP.
