Abanka Reports an Increase in Assets
Ljubljana, 3 July - A leading Slovene bank, Ljubljana-based Abanka, increased its total assets by SIT 25.68bn (EUR 113m) to almost 281.29bn (EUR 1.2bn) in the first five months of this year. The bank's performance in the period exceeded the expectations; Abanka acquired a 6.5 percent market share and became the fourth-largest Slovene bank. The profit amounted to SIT 1.098bn (EUR 4.8m), up 29 percent on the first five months of 2001.
