Slovene Extreme Swimmer Begins his Challenge to Conquer Mississippi
Minneapolis, 4 July - Slovene extreme swimmer Martin Strel began the challenge of conquering the longest river in the U.S., the Mississippi, late on Thursday Central European Time. Strel jumped into the cold waters of Lake Itasca in the U.S. state of Minnesota, thus starting an ordeal which is expected to last 66 days and see him swim 3,797 km, across ten U.S. states.
