Trieste Prefect Appoints Special Administration to Implement Controversial ID Decree
Trieste, 5 July - Trieste prefect Vincenzo Grimaldi appointed on Friday a special administration in the three municipalities of the Trieste region, the mayors of which have decided not to comply with an Interior Ministry's decree allowing four bilingual Trieste municipalities to issue identity cards in the Italian language only, instead of bilingual, Italian-Slovene IDs, which have been the standard so far, the Trieste Radio A has reported.
