Several Hundred People Call for Tolerance at Gay Pride in Ljubljana

Ljubljana, 6 July - Some 400 people turned out at one of Ljubljana's central squares on Saturday in support for the rights of homosexuals. The aim of the 2002 Pride Parade is to draw attention to problems faced by gays and lesbians and to call for their status to be regulated by law. The event was also attended by head of the European Commission delegation to Slovenia Erwin Fouere, who said that the fight against discrimination was a global concern.
