Construction of Power Plants on the Lower Sava to be the Biggest Investment Project Ever

Sevnica, 8 July - The government and Holding Slovenske elektrarne, a company associating several Slovene power plants, on Monday signed a deal granting the holding a license to construct five hydroelectric power plants on the lower Sava river in what is believed to be the biggest ever investment project in Slovenia. Estimated at around SIT 95bn (EUR 419m), the project, which is expected to be underway for some 15 years, is to kick off with the construction of a power plant at Bostanj in November.
