Farmers Dissatisfied with Offered Wheat Price

Ljubljana, 8 July - Slovene wheat-processing companies on Monday put forward a final offer of SIT 28 (EUR 0.12) for a kilogramme of wheat to farmers, who hoped to push the price to SIT 30 (EUR 0.13) arguing that the offer was lower than last year while the payment deadline, namely 15 October, is absolutely too late. However, as Janez Zeleznikar of the Association of the Food-Producing Industry told the press, this is the final price so that wheat would be purchased from farmers who will be prepared to sell it for the offered price.
