Republika: Public Opinion Poll on Burning Issues

The Republika newspaper conducted a public opinion poll among 354 telephone subscribers chosen at random. The respondents stated who they would vote for if elections were held tomorrow. In the poll, the Social Democratic Party of Slovenia-SDSS, led by Janez Janša, received a higher percentage of votes (8.47%) than the Slovenian Christian Democrats-SKD (6.50%), the Slovenian People's Party-SLS (7.06%) and a large number of more radical right-wing parties, which were totally ignored by respondents. Liberal Democracy of Slovenia-LDS led with 24.29 per cent, while the Associated List of Social Democrats-ZLSD received 5.93 per cent support. The largest number of respondents (31.64%) did not know who they would vote for, while 12.99 per cent would not vote at all.
