Slovenia's Electricity Consumption up in First Half Year

Ljubljana, 9 July - Electricity consumption in Slovenia is still on the increase, as direct consumers and distributors in the first six months of 2002 have already taken on 5.7bn kilowatt hours, thus exceeding last year's first half-yearly consumption by 7.3%, according to the Slovene electricity grid manager Elektro Slovenija. The data has also shown that 1.09bn kilowatt hours of electricity surplus have been sold abroad, down 27% over the year before.
