Interior Ministry Rejects Charges Filed by Human Rights Watchdog
Ljubljana, 10 July - The Interior Ministry on Wednesday rejected criticism voiced by a human rights watchdog that the ministry and the police had done nothing in the past eight years to alleviate the situation of many people who were erased from the permanent residency registry in 1992. The NGO also filed charges against Interior Minister Rado Bohinc, chief of police Marko Pogorevc and former Interior Minister Igor Bavcar at the Ljubljana District State Prosecution in this regard, which was labelled by the ministry as "an exaggerated, inadequate and useless way of solving open issues".
